“Taste of the Garden” event returns to La Crosse’s Kane Street community garden

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Hunger Task Force’s annual “Taste of the Garden” event is offering the community a chance to go natural.

The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at the Kane Street Community Garden.

There will be music, beer and wine tasting and dishes prepared by area chefs.

Proceeds from the event go back into the garden– and the community.

“And the proceeds from that event are going to help the Kane street community grow. What is our goal to raise 30,000 pounds of produce to give away right here on site for the community,” said Shelly Fortner, executive director of the Hunger Task Force.

Tickets for the event are $25 ahead of time and $30 at the door.
