Taste of Onalaska draws hundreds to event
Event is hosted by Onalaska Education Foundation
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Hundreds of people attended Taste of Onalaska Saturday night eager to sample the menu of area restaurants and support education in Onalaska.
The Claude Deck Grants are given for innovative school programs proposed by teachers.
The President of the Onalaska Education Foundation said this is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
“I think it’s fair to say that most educators agree you can’t have a strong education system without community support and this is where it comes to life, this is where it really happens,” said Dale Pasell, president of Onalaska Education Foundation.
The theme of this year’s event was Casino Night.
Since the creation of the Onalaska Education Foundation in 1998, they have donated over 130-thousand dollars to public and private schools in the Onalaska area.
