Tammy Baldwin visits Mathy Center

Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin stopped at the Boy’s And Girls Club’s Mathy Center Saturday to discuss strengthening communities.

Baldwin toured the facility and held a discussion with young adults to talk about the importance of the Club.

Baldwin also promoted the Stronger Way Act which she helped write.

The act is an effort to confront childhood poverty through strengthened Earned Income Tax and the Child Tax Credit.

Baldwin says having organizations like the Boy’s And Girls Club is important in creating a stronger community.

“The opportunity for young people be in a safe environment, a nurturing environment but one that’s also sharing opportunities. Whether that’s thinking about career or college, weather it’s older student’s mentoring younger students,” Baldwin said.
