Conservation group challenges use plan for former ammo plant

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Conservationists are challenging plans to allow rockets, motorcycles and dog training in a recreation area once home to the Badger Army Ammunition Plant.The Department of Natural Resources' plan for the Sauk Prairie State Recreation area calls for hiking, biking and horse trails as well as space for model rockets, allowing motorcycles on trails and a hunting dog training area. The DNR's board is set to approve the plan Wednesday.
