Minnesota DNR finds evidence of zebra mussels in Leech Lake

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Evidence of invasive zebra mussels has turned up in Leech Lake, the third-largest lake in Minnesota.The Department of Natural Resources said Thursday it found zebra mussel larvae in samples collected from two locations nearly 17 miles apart. While the DNR hasn't found any adults in the lake, the locations and numbers of the larvae indicate a reproducing population may be present.
