Deshawn Randall asks for a new public defender in court hearing
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Deshawn Randall who is being charged with first degree intentional homicide appeared in court again today.
Randall who is the suspect in the fatal shooting of 17 year old George Miller is asking for a new attorney after firing appointed public defender Allan Beatty.
The Judge says if Randall goes through the public defender office again the second attorney he is assigned is final. He cannot “shop” for an attorney.
The preliminary hearing for Randall is still scheduled for Thursday, but could be pushed back if new attorney isn’t found in time. It could take a week or more to find someone who’s certified to handle a homicide case.
