Surplus of food allows WAFER to serve extra to community
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A surplus of food is providing extra help for people in need in our community.
WAFER food pantry in La Crosse is offering partial food packages to clients.
The partial packages are in addition to the once a month food package distributed to clients.
A high number of produce and milk donations has created the surplus.
The extra food can do more than feed hungry people.
“It’s a great way for people to extend their budget. You know produce and milk, dairy products are really expensive and so we are just super grateful that we’re able to offer this additional service,” said Erin Waldhart, executive director of WAFER.
The partial package offering will continue until surplus food has been distributed.
