Sunday is national 211 day
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Sunday is national 211 day, a time to recognize 211 services. 211 is the free, user-friendly phone number that helps people find the services they need for things like heating assistance, local food pantries, overcoming addiction and more. Anyone can access the service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There is also a local 211 service run by Gundersen Health System and the United Way. To access the local service, visit the website at www.greatrivers211.org to chat online Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More than 13 million calls were placed to 211 services across the country last year.
