Summer Reading program starts in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Students in La Crosse are being challenged to make the community a better place by reading.
The La Crosse Public Library summer reading program starts this week called the ‘Summer Dare.’
Kids will be given a series of dares to complete taking them into books and also out into the community.
Library staff says the event reminds kids to be kind to others and active for themselves.
“So we really thought how can we holistically include reading and library youth as part of your great summer,” said Dawn Wacek, Youth Services Manager for the La Crosse Public Library.
An official kickoff event for the program is June 12th at the Main Library.
