Submissions being accepted for ‘Connected Through Diversity’ art exhibit
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – People of all ages are celebrating diversity through art.
The Extension La Crosse County Office is accepting submissions for its ‘Connected Through Diversity’ art exhibit.
You can submit a piece of original wall art that reflects inclusion and what connects us, while also embracing our differences.
Whether you’re five or 105, your perspective of diversity is what makes this exhibit unique.
“It’s really important to realize that there are other viewpoints than your own. So to see the differences and viewpoints explained through art is a really great way to bring everything together,” said Kasey Burg, Extension La Crosse County Administrative Associate.
The exhibit will be in the atrium of the La Crosse County Administrative Center.
It will be displayed from Martin Luther King Junior Day, which is January 18th, through the end of February, which is Black History Month.
You do not need to be a La Crosse County resident to enter.
Plus, the public will be able to vote for their favorite piece.
The winner for each age group (5-15, 16-25, 26-50, 51+) will receive a $25 gift card to local La Crosse businesses owned by people of color.
The deadline to submit a piece is January 14th.
