Students looking for professional clothing donations

Students at Western Technical College are looking for professional clothing donations for their Suits For Success event.

The event provides free, gently used professional clothing to students and community members in need.

There will also be a tie tying demonstration and the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken by a photographer.

Students are looking forward to helping the commnunity. Kerrigan Lyga, a business management student, says, “Our entire goal is to help people with their professional lives and help update their job skills in case they’ve been working at the same place for a really long time and they just got laid off…they just need an updated resume and business clothes are expensive so we’re really trying to help out by giving stuff away for free.”

You can drop off gently used, professional clothing on the Western Technical College Campus. You can find donation bins at the Academic Resource Center, Business Education Center, Multicultural Affairs Office, Student Union, and the Welcome Center.

The Suits For Success event is open to the public and will be held on March 6 at the college’s Lunda Center from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
