Students in West Salem celebrate Unity Day
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Students in the School District of West Salem are also celebrating Unity Day.
To help celebrate the day, students and staff from West Salem wore orange Wednesday.
And school wide discussions took place about the importance of not bullying and supporting others.
Students also made a video discussing times they have experience bullying.
The annual event was started by the PACER National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011.
Everyone can play a part in ending bullying.
“We really hope to reach out to people were or might be bystanders to bullying and reach out to them and help them to recognize what really does happen and show them ways that they can make a difference, and they can help their peers,” said West Salem High School senior Josie Hanson.
