Students gather toilet paper, toiletries as part of annual service project

Donations gathered by Crucifixion School students

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – Students at Cruxifixion School in La Crescent are supporting the community during an annual service project.

The kids collected toilet paper and toiletries for a local food shelf with donation bins in classrooms throughout the building.

The students elected to support the food shelf after finding that the products were often in need.

A longer collection drive was planned, but it ended as schools across the country make schedule changes.

The drive is impacting the community in many ways.

“It just helps them and it makes you feel good about what you did,” said Crucifixion School 6th grader Kaleb Spah.

The kids even had a little extra fun this morning during collection.

Each class will be stacking all their items to see who can make the tallest stack.

The winning class gets a dress down day when they come back to school.
