Students explore career opportunities at fair in La Crosse

Middle school students are looking to their futures at a career fair Thursday in La Crosse.

About 1,400 8th graders from 12 schools were at a career day at Western Technical College.

Sessions focused on a range of career options, like health care, automotive repair and business.

Students say they enjoy learning from people in the career fields because it gives a look at job opportunities.

“Professional have so much more experience. They can teach us like what the internet says and all that, but professionals give us real world situations,” said career day attendee Noah Graves.

About 50 speakers from the community gave presentations during the event.
