Students explore career opportunities at Auto and Diesel Career Fair in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Educators and local businesses are hoping to steer potential employees to new job opportunities at a career fair Thursday in La Crosse.
Western Technical College hosted an ‘Automotive and Diesel Career Fair’ Thursday morning at the school’s Vehicle Technology Center.
Twenty-six businesses from around the area were on hand to discuss career opportunities with students and community members.
The need is growing as technology becomes more complex in cars.
“We just need a higher level of skilled technicians because our cars are so much more computer controlled today then they ever were, so a lot of customers can’t do their own work at home, and so we need these techs to be able to step up and take that roll,” said Brian Kanable, Western Technical College automotive instructor.
This is the 5th year Western Technical College hosted the fair.
