Student volunteer to clean litter from Western Technical College campus in La Crosse

A cleaning project will help a college campus in La Crosse get ready for spring.

Western Technical College’s Tobacco-Free Work Group held a campus clean-up today.

Students and staff volunteered to pick up cigarette butts and other waste on campus.

Litter is being exposed as the snow has melts.

“A lot of those end up on the sides of the roads, sides of the parking lots and all that. If we don’t get it now, when the rain starts to come, it will actually get into the gutters and then out to the river,” said Benton Krupicka, member of Western Technical College’s Tobacco-free Work Group.

Student volunteers got a t-shirt for participating in the clean-up.
