Student teacher continues to help garden, students at GROW garden
Student teacher is creative videos to help educate
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Even though school is out for the year a local student continues to plant seeds for his future.
‘GROW’ student teacher Alexander Keller continues to help the program’s ‘hoop house’ in the Washburn Community Garden in La Crosse.
Along with tending to plants, Keller is creating videos for students to learn about the garden.
The fruits of his labor will help provide food security for students that he was teaching.
“Exposing them to what it looks like to grow something, to make it seem like an option that they can actually engage in, to make it be something that they can actually do, I think is important, so they understand how everything works,” said GROW student teacher Alexander Keller.
The UW-La Crosse education major is working in the garden to fulfill his student teaching requirement.
