Strong police presence for alleged shooter’s court appearance
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The man accused of shooting and killing a Central High School student in La Crosse was formally charged Thursday in La Crosse Co. Court.
There was a strong police presence outside of the courthouse for 18-year-old Deshawn Randall’s court appearance.
He was charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide for the shooting death of 17-year-old George Miller on La Crosse’s southside Aug. 21.
More than a dozen officers stood guard because of an incident Monday after Randall’s initial appearance.
After Monday’s hearing, a fight broke out in the parking lot between people who were inside the courtroom.
An email was sent out to county employees to avoid the area around the time of Thursday’s hearing.
No problems were reported.
