StormTeam 8 receives StormReady recognition
Higher standards for weather alerts means you are better prepared
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Cory and the Storm Team got some recognition on Monday.
The National Weather Service says it shows the Storm Team is going above and beyond when it comes to severe weather.
“You can be more assured that there is that kind of weather monitoring and coordinating ways to get weather information out when it’s at its worst. And so knowing that people are doing all that they can to keep people safe is kind of what our mission is at the National Weather Service, it’s what emergency management officials do and this is a way to recognize that that type of work is being done,” said Todd Shea, of the National Weather Service.
We now have a ‘Storm Ready‘ section on our website, explaining what it means to be certified.
