Wintry Mix & Rain Move In For Saturday
Saturday’s High: 42F / Tonight’s Low: 40F – Last updated Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 8:50 AM…
Good Saturday to you! Moisture has moved in from the southwest, and parts of the area are experiencing slippery travel conditions due to rain/freezing rain/snow mix. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect until NOON. Today is an ALERT DAY.
Temperatures will warm into the upper 30s to low 40s this afternoon. This will cause the wintry mix to change over to all rain.
Looking Ahead… The rain will continue tonight and winds will increase out of the southeast.
The chance of scattered rain showers will be around on Sunday, but we’ll get a break from the precipitation from time to time. Temperatures on Sunday will be quite mild in the mid to upper 40s.
As the storm system heads east, colder air will begin to build in for late Sunday night and Monday. This will cause the system’s residual moisture to change over to light snow. Due to the snow, travel will be slick on Monday, so we have marked it as an ALERT DAY. Highs will be in the low 30s.
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be dry, but chillier. Highs on NYE will top out a bit closer to average in the upper 20s. Lows 30s for Wednesday.
Have a great day! -Michelle Poedel
