Statewide Silver Alert issued for missing Wisconsin couple with dementia, diabetes
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Wisconsin couple last seen in the town of Black Earth on Thanksgiving Day.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Donald and Colleen Soper, both 87, had left a family gathering at 3 p.m.
Donald had planned to take Colleen for a short drive before returning her to an assisted living home in the village of Crosse Plains. He was then going to go to his home in the town of Westport, about 15 miles away in Dane County.
Colleen has dementia. Donald is an insulin-dependent diabetic, who can become disoriented when his blood sugar is not properly managed.
Donald Soper was driving a 2008 Black Dodge Caliber with Wisconsin license plate 327FXX. There is a GPS tracker on the vehicle, but it does not appear to be working as of 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Donald is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 196 pounds with blue eyes, short grey/blond hair. He wears glasses and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket. Colleen was last seen wearing a red leather jacket.
Anyone with info is asked to contact Dane County at 608-255-2345 or Detective Todd Dosher at 608-575-6598.
