State Sen. Testin answers questions about budget impact at forum

Monroe County residents are discussing the latest Wisconsin budget with a local legislator.

State Sen. Patrick Testin (R-Stevens Point) answered questions from constituents during a forum held by the Monroe County Republican Party Sunday. He said it’s important to have these events to tell people what is being accomplished in Madison.

During the event, he talked about some impacts the budget will have on education, transportation, and healthcare.

“That was a big one that we heard a lot about, not just during the campaign in 2018, but then also over the course of the last several months during the budget process. We want to make sure that health care is affordable, accessible and of great quality. I think the budget that we passed and that Governor Evers signed into law makes those investments,” Testin said.

The state senator said there is a perception that republicans and democrats are often going head to head on the issues in Madison, but there is more common ground than not.
