State leaders hear from residents in West Salem area on proposed budget
Sen. Shilling, Rep. Doyle attended
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin leaders are hearing from residents in the La Crosse area Tuesday on the proposed state budget.
State Senator Jennifer Shilling and Representative Steve Doyle hosted the budget listening session in West Salem to hear the thoughts and concerns of people in our area.
According to the state leaders, the transportation budget continues to dominate many listening sessions. Concerns over education and health care funding were also raised at today’s session.
“From schools to roads to health care, to teacher licensure and libraries, and so I think it really gives us a good idea about some of the issues that we need to keep an eye on in the budget, and if there are changes that need to be made, how we go about and do it,” said Senator Shilling.
Senator Shilling says she plans to take the ideas heard Tuesday to Madison to help improve the proposed budget.
