Spring may bring increase in allergy problems

Another sign of the season is the return of spring allergies.

Tree pollen, followed by grass pollen is likely affecting allergy sufferers.

Despite the snow in our area, pollen from areas where trees and grass have already been in bloom can affect suffers.

Nasal congestion, runny nose and sneezing are all signs of allergies.

An immunologist with Allergy Associates says by treating symptoms now, you may avoid bigger problems.

“You can end up with infections, whether that’s viral because your losing that barrier layer or a lot of times you can get bacterial infections too,” said Allergy Associates immunologist Giana Nicoara.

Showering after being outside can help remove pollen and decrease symptoms.
