Blair-Taylor softball season ends with runner up finish at state

Blair-Taylor softball season ends...

MADISON, WI - The Blair-Taylor softball team was unable to overcome some shaky play in the field, losing in the Division 5 state championship game.

The Wildcats (24-4) led 3-0 after 3 innings, but committed 8 errors, allowing McDonell Central to score 8 runs.  Blair-Taylor could not answer, losing 8-3.

The runner up finish is the best finish for the Blair-Taylor softball program, who was making their first appearance at state.

"Unfortunately when you have to have your worst game defensively that's not where you want it.  But we took second and we got something we are proud of and I am very proud of these girls no matter what," head coach Greg Bratina said.

It was a great season and I love playing with every single one of them  and seeing them at school and its just really great experience for all of us," freshman Lauren Steien said.
