Back to work for UW-La Crosse football

LA CROSSE, WI - The UW-La Crosse football team is starting to garner some national attention.  The 2-0 Eagles receiving honorable mention votes in two Division Three football rankings this week.

UWL can better their chances of cracking into the top 25 on Saturday at home against Carroll College. Mike Schmidt's squad is well rested, coming off a bye week.

Don't expect the Eagles to come out flat this weekend, the team got a lot done with their time off to stay sharp.

"The number one thing we accomplished on bye week was to get our guys healthy.  We had a couple guys still banged up from our first couple games.  The boat will be full on Saturday.  We will have pretty much all but one or two guys back.  Feel really good about getting healthy and there was a lot of stuff we had to clean up ourselves and thought we had a really nice week doing that," Head coach Mike Schmidt said.

"Kind of getting everything in sync.  We have kind of been off here and there for certain things.  But this past week, we've been working hard getting everything synced up and we are pretty excited about this week," Senior wide receiver Nick Holcomb said.
