Sports Spotlight 5-12: Bangor’s Carter Horstman

The latest senior athlete in the Sports Spotlight is Bangor’s Carter Horstman.

Carter is a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball, and his senior year got off to a great start. As a team captain, Horstman ran for over 2,300 yards with 31 touchdowns as Bangor made it to Level 4 of the playoffs. Horstman was named the Scenic Bluffs Player of the Year and was first team WFCA All-State on both offense and defense.

He finished his football career with three trips to Level 4 in the playoffs and one state championship, along with over 4,700 rushing yards and 67 rushing touchdowns.

He was also part of a Bangor basketball team which reached state in 2019. And in the spring, Horstman was part of a program that steadily improved every season, culminating in a trip to the sectional final last spring.

Carter is set to enroll at Western Tech.
