Special Valentine’s Dance in Holmen lets makes holiday events accessible to all
Students from 13 districts attended
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) – A Valentine’s Dance is making sure all students can enjoy the holiday.
A Special Education Valentine’s Dance was held at Holmen High School Wednesday morning.
The Dance was organized by Holmen’s Project Bridge students, along with the Academy on the Prairie and Project LIVE.
Special Education students and staff from 13 area school districts were invited to attend.
Students could enjoy music and dancing, a popcorn bar and even a photo booth.
The event is a chance to let kids be kids.
“We just thought it’d be great to have it during the school day and they don’t have to worry about transportation and then we opened it up to other districts because they know friends from other districts so it’s really neat that they get together during the day,” said Lynne Wilson, Project Bridge, Special Education Transition teacher at Holmen High School.
More than 300 people were expected to attend the event.
