Special needs fashion show models get fitted for dresses by Beautiful Butterfly Project

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Models for the upcoming Special Needs Fashion Show and Prom got fitted in their dresses on Saturday.

Everyone came to the Beautiful Butterfly Project’s new location in the historic Wesley United Methodist Church on King St.

The organizer of the project, Judy Wolff, was recently able to move hundreds of her dresses to the building’s basement.

This allows her to better serve those who are in need of a dress for any kind of special event.

“Whatever you have going on, you need a formal dress? Come find it. I also do wedding gowns, I have a lot of wedding gowns, I give those away as well, bridesmaid dresses, I mean, you name it, I got it,” said Wolff.

The models that are browsing dresses this weekend are getting fitted for the event happening on June 12th.

The Special Needs Fashion Show and Prom is free for the special needs community and their caregivers.

It’s being held at the American Legion Post 52 in La Crosse.

Organizers are asking those interested in coming to register on the La Crosse Jaycees website. Click on the ‘Hollywood Nights’ picture to get to the registration form.

The event page on Facebook can be found here. You can also find updates on the Special Needs Dream Team’s Facebook page.
