Sparta’s ‘Kriskindlmarkt’ kicks off Friday

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – People in the Sparta area aren’t waiting for Small Business Saturday to support local businesses.

The sixth annual ‘Kriskindlmarkt‘ started up Friday in downtown Sparta.

The outdoor market features local and regional vendors, non-profit groups, live music, and plenty of the area’s best foods.

There are permanent booths in Mueller Square along with five temporary booths along the Water Street Bridge.

And new this year, the delicious smell of brats cooking on a new open grill!

If you’re in need of some holiday cheer, this is a great place to get it.

“It’s been a tough year and we hope to bring just a little bit of joy, a little bit of happiness, even if you don’t buy anything,” said Heidi Prestwood, the event’s Executive Director. “Just come down, the smells, the sites, the people… it’s a great thing!”

The market is open again on Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm.

If you can’t make it this weekend don’t worry, you have a couple more chances to stop by.

It starts up again next Friday and Saturday, and the last two days are December 11th and 12th.

On Fridays, the market is open from 4 pm-8 pm and 10 am-8 pm on Saturdays
