The school district placed Amy Van Deuren on leave after several employees filed formal complaints, according to a statement from Scholze. The complaints pertained to alleged incidents that occurred March 25. The statement did not indicate the nature of the alleged incident.

An outside investigator concluded Van Deuren “engaged in a pattern of conduct toward staff that violated multiple District policies, including those policies setting out the essential duties, responsibilities and functions of her position,” the statement said.

The school board decided to schedule an evidentiary hearing with Van Deuren to determine disciplinary consequences, if any, Scholze said.
