Sparta students get technical at STEMKAMP

Stemkamp Summer Camp

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – Local students are extending their education through the summer with STEMKAMP.

STEMKAMP is a five-day camp that provides students the opportunity to participate in a week full of activities related to science, technology, engineering, and math. The camp hopes to introduce new students to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and highlights the importance of understanding the basics of STEM.

“For me, watching the kids that get excited about getting their project to go a certain distance and then come back and be told, well yeah you can make it go further,” said Linda Layer of Sparta Area School District. “Then they’re like OK and off they go. That’s the fun part about this.”

This is STEMKAMP’s second summer operating.
