Southside shooter suspect receives new public defender
18-year old Deshawn Randall receives new lawyer out of Madison
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The 18-year old man accused of killing a La Crosse Central student last month now has a new lawyer.
Last week Deshawn Randall’s request for a new public defender was granted. Judge Gloria Doyle appointed Michael Covey, a lawyer out of Madison, to represent Randall Thursday.
Randall is accused of shooting 17 year old George Miller on the Southside of La Crosse in August.
He and his new lawyer will be back in court the week of September 20th for his preliminary hearing where it will be decided if there is enough evidence to go to trial.
