Slow start to gardening season in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — If you’re looking foward to getting into your garden, you aren’t alone.
As of right now, staff at La Crosse floral says it isn’t time yet to put all of your flowers into the ground.
While they say some vegetables like radishes and lettuce could be planted now while others should wait.
To help give yourself a jump start, you can put some of your plants in pots.
“Be prepared to throw something over them, if it gets to be a cold night. I know our nights, I think last night was in the 60s, it was warm. It was definitely warm. But containers, yes and then keep something handy to throw over it,” said Linda Zoerb, President of La Crosse Floral.
Some plants like basil will have to wait to closer to Memorial Day to be planted.
