Slight Chance Of More Storms Tonight -Bill Graul
ALERT DAY Wednesday - Chance Of Severe Storms Late Wednesday Into Wednesday Night
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 72F / Wednesday’s Forecast High: 93F…
Strong To Severe Storms This Morning & Midday:
Strong to severe storms dumped heavy rain on many areas this morning, causing significant street flooding in the La Crosse area. The storms also produced large hail in spots, with numerous reports of quarter size hail… and isolated reports up to tennis and baseball size!
More Storms Tonight?
A boundary remains stalled across the region this evening, with plenty of heat and humidity (moisture) in place. There’s at least a slight chance the boundary could activate with more storms this evening and through about midnight or so. If storms do fire, there’s a slight chance for some strong to severe storms with hail, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Otherwise, it will be mild and muggy tonight with lows in the 60s to low 70s. Watch out for areas of fog late tonight into Wednesday morning.
ALERT DAY Wednesday – Hot & Humid… With Chance Of Severe Storms Late:
There’s a small chance of showers Wednesday morning, then the clouds and fog should mix out… allowing for some sunshine. This will make for a hot and humid day with highs in the low and possibly mid 90s. High humidity could cause heat indices in the 95-105F range, prompting the NWS to issue a HEAT ADVISORY for most of the viewing area. A disturbance will then track southeast across the region and use all of that energy (heat/humidity) to bring a chance of storms late in the day and into Wednesday night. Some of the storms could be strong to severe, especially east of the Miss. River. Strong winds will be the main threat, but hail and brief heavy rain will also be possible. Isolated tornadoes cannot be fully ruled out. You’ll want to be extra weather aware later Wednesday into Wednesday night.
Not as hot or humid Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid 80s. Expect a mix of clouds and sun Thursday, then partly cloudy skies on Friday. Slight chance of showers and t-storms Saturday with highs in the mid-upper 80s. Mostly sunny and nice Sunday with highs in the low 80s. Next Monday through Wednesday looks dry at this time, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies… and seasonably warm temps. -Bill Graul
