“Sleep Fairy” visits La Crosse elementary students with gifts to get a good night’s rest

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A special guest is making sure kids still get rest when the clock jumps forward an hour on Sunday.

The “Sleep Fairy” visited first-grade students at Northside Elementary & Coulee Montessori Charter School Friday.

She gave each student a pillow, pillowcase, a bedtime book, a bedtime snack, and a new toothbrush and toothpaste.

The Sleep Fairy also gave them tips to make their own bedtime routine, which she said is an important part of a good night’s sleep.

“A bedtime routine will help kids be better prepared, help them be more full of energy and ready for school, better for learning, and it makes it easier at home too when they have a schedule to follow,” said Sleep Fairy Kathy Sierp.

She was able to hand out all these gifts thanks to generous donations from the community.

The school hopes to make it an annual activity.
