Sign Ups underway for volunteers and projects for Mayor’s Crew

La Crosse home owners needing basic home repairs can now apply for assistance from the La Crosse Mayor’s Crew Corps.

Crews of volunteers can complete repairs for people who are elderly, low income or have a disability that prevents them from doing the repairs themselves.

The crews will be working from mid-June to late July.

Work is completed free of charge, but home owners must provide the supplies needed to complete the projects.

The experience benefits the home owners and the volunteers.

“The idea is to get these young people, these high school students out into the community, maybe even the neighbor’s they live in and helping out some of the homeowners in the city,” said WisCorps Operations Director Chad Duchateau.
