Showers & Storms Likely Today
Friday’s Forecast High: 84°F, Tonight’s Forecast Low: 60°F
Good Friday to you! We have showers and thunderstorms moving through our eastern communities this morning. These storms are dropping heavy rain, and keep redeveloping over the same areas. As of 3:30am, this has led to rainfall totals in the 2″-4″+ range in parts of Monroe, Juneau & Adams Co. Flash flooding is possible, so please remember, do NOT drive through flooded roadways!
I’m also watching another large area of showers and storms over Minnesota this morning. There is a line of storms that could bring some strong winds if it holds together as it approaches our area. The best chance of showers and storms will be through late morning today. Some storms could be strong to marginally severe.
If the atmosphere can recover from this morning’s storms, there is the potential for redevelopment this afternoon. Any storms that are able to bubble up later today, will have the potential of being strong to severe. Make sure to keep your News8000 First Alert Weather app on hand to get instant warnings to your phone.
Skies will clear tonight and cooler, less humid air will filter into the area. Lows will fall into the upper 50s to 60 degrees.
We have a beautiful weekend on tap! Mostly sunny both Saturday and Sunday with high ranging from the mid 70s to 80 degrees.
The chance of showers and storms will return Monday, then slight chances through the middle of the week.
Temperatures will remain at or below average over the next week.
Have a great day, and stay tuned to weather updates today! –Michelle Poedel
