Man had been living in unit
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse County Medical Examiner identified the body found in an Onalaska storage unit on August 29.
Results from a DNA profile confirm that the body was 61-year-old Steven Tabbert, according to Tim Candahl, the La Crosse County Medical Examiner. He believes the body may have been in the storage unit since May 2019.
Tabbert lived in the La Crosse and Onalaska area, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. His body was found by storage unit employees while conducting routine business inspections due to payments not being made.
