Senators Baldwin, Klobuchar support Biden campaign in Vernon County
Visit served as a kick off the Biden campaign's Build Back Better Rural Roadshow
STODDARD, Wis. (WKBT) – A campaign stop brings two U.S. Senators to our areas to support Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar toured a farm near Stoddard Friday.
The pair discussed Biden’s plans for rural economies, job creation and recovering from the pandemic.
Senator Baldwin says health care in rural American needs more support.
“The rural healthcare system also needs some real attention. We have rural hospitals, critical access hospitals that are spread, are stretched really thin right now, especially in a pandemic. And Joe Biden has plans to strengthen our health care system,” said Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin.
The visit served as a kick off for the Biden campaign’s Build Back Better Rural Roadshow.
Republican candidate for the Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, Derrick Van Orden says that while it was discussed in the vice presidential debate, the GOP will not cut health care for pre-existing conditions.
“This is a typical left-wing talking point that is simply not true. And what that does and why it’s so important when we’re discussing rural America, the more times these folks lie about that, the less confidence people have in our rural communities in their government,” said Wisconsin 3rd congressional district Republican candidate Derrick Van Orden.
Election day is November 3rd.
