Sen. Ron Johnson exposed to COVID-19, won’t travel with POTUS

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson will not be traveling Thursday with President Donald Trump after he was exposed Monday to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a spokesman

Johnson, who was not experiencing symptoms, was tested late Wednesday because he was due to travel with Trump, according to Ben Voelkel, the Wisconsin Republican’s communications director.

While he tested negative, he has been placed in quarantine until Sept. 29 and will not travel with the president or attend the Thursday event in Mosinee, Wis.
