Sen. Kamala Harris as Biden’s VP pick is significant

Political analyst Anthony Chergosky weighs in on Harris as VP choice

Joe Biden named California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate on Tuesday, making history by selecting the first Black woman to compete on a major party’s presidential ticket.

But local political analyst Anthony Chergosky also pointed out that there is another reason the pick is significant, “Throughout American history multiple vice presidents have gone on to become president. So what Joe Biden is doing by picking Kamala Harris is basically saying that if he wins, it’s completely plausible that Kamala Harris could become president at some point.”

But, Chergosky also says that research shows very few voters minds are changed by who is chosen as a vice presidential candidate.
