Second suspect identified in baseball bat attack

DURAND, Wis. (WKBT)- Two individuals were severely injured after being struck with baseball bats Tuesday morning in Buffalo County.

The assault happened at about 9:47 a.m. on February 18 on Weisenbeck Road in the Town of Nelson. The suspects left before the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and are still at large.

Authorities are asking for assistance in locating the two suspects. The first suspect is Erick Tlatemohue Tepole, 28, also known as Adbiel Ferr Ruiz, Kaleb Arango Ferran or Erick Tepole.

The second suspect has been identified as Rufino Zacaris Tehuacatl, 29. He has active arrest warrants from Trempealeau County.

Both suspects have family in Eau Claire and the Barron County area. The suspects may be driving in a maroon 2009 Dodge Ram, with a cracked windshield. The vehicle’s tailgate is being held up by a rope or bungee cord, police say.

Both victims were taken via air ambulance to area hospitals and are in serious condition.
