School District of Onalaska surveying community ahead of superintendent hire

A local school board is looking for the community’s help in the search for a new superintendent.

The Onalaska School Board has a survey for people living in the district to weigh-in on the search.

Current Superintendent Fran Finco will retire at the end of June this year.

Survey questions focus on leadership styles, specialized skills and personal characteristics.

A school board member says it is important to make sure the new superintendent match’s the community’s focus.

“We decided that we wanted to do a community survey, so that we can hear from everybody across all demographics in our community,” said Heather Sysimaki, Vice President of the Onalaska School Board.

The survey is available on the district’s website,
