Scattered Storms Tonight & Monday
Sunday’s High: 89°F, Tonight’s Forecast Low: 72°F
It was a very warm and humid day across the area with highs in the 80s. That heat and humidity is colliding with a warm front tonight, bringing showers and thunderstorms. There is the possibility that some storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding and isolated tornadoes. Please stay weather aware this evening and tonight, and make sure you have the News8000 First Alert Weather app downloaded on your phone for instant warnings.
Scattered showers and storms will continue Monday, especially in the morning. During the afternoon, the chance of storms will still be there, but it will be much smaller than the first half of the day. Another warm and muggy day tomorrow with highs in the upper 80s.
The chance of showers and storms will stick around for much of the week, and so will the very warm temperatures.
The good new is that if you have outdoor plans for the 4th of July, right now, we are looking dry and hot with highs near 90 degrees.
A few showers and storms will return for the second part of the holiday weekend and into early next week.
Have a great night and stay weather aware! –Michelle Poedel
