‘Sapphire’ is winning word in CESA 4 Regional Spelling Bee

Top 5 finalists in the 2020 CESA #4 Regional Spelling Bee.

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT)- 27 students from 15 area schools competed in the Regional Spelling Bee this morning in West Salem.

Simran Virk of Holmen Middle School spelled the word ‘Sapphire’ to win the 2020 CESA #4 Regional Spelling Bee. Virk will travel to Madison on March 7 for the Badger State Spelling Bee. Four additional finalists will travel with Virk to the state bee next month, they are Kaetryn Oliver of Holmen Middle School, Krishna Ailiani of Onalaska Middle School, Lewis Go of St. Patrick Elementary School and Zachary Noronha of West Salem Elementary School.
