Salvation Army specialist to help community members transition into permanent housing in La Crosse
The new hire is possible from money from La Crosse County Human Services Department
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new ‘housing specialist’ will help community members struggling to find housing.
The Salvation Army of La Crosse County introduced the new staff member.
Among the goals, the new staff member will help Salvation Army clients identify housing options develop a housing plans and help them move from the shelter to affordable, permanent housing.
The help could change lives and attitudes in our area.
“Being that person that’s communicating with the landlords on their behalf and just advocating for them. And just a little bit of just changing the idea of the type of clients that we may have coming out of shelter that are seeking housing,” said Salvation Army housing specialist Loretta Lapoint.
The new staff member is possible thanks to money from the La Crosse County Human Services Department.
