Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign kicks off in our area
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — If you’ve been out shopping lately you may have already heard bells ringing.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign began Saturday with some volunteers from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at local Festival Foods.
The money raised from the red kettles goes to help people all throughout La Crosse county as well as to serve more than 100,000 meals.
Those at the Salvation Army say this is an easy opportunity to give back during the holidays.
“Yeah the kettles are at all the Festival Foods. They’ll be at Walmart after Thanksgiving. They’re at all the major shopping centers. Wherever you hear the bell ringing, there’s a kettle nearby so if you hear that bell ringing, it’s a good opportunity to give,” Salvation Army Maj. Jeff Richardson said.
The kettles will be running until Christmas eve. If you would like to donate but will not be out at one of the Salvation Army’s kettle locations, you can donate at www.salacrosse.org.
