Salvation Army of La Crosse County adds Community Health Worker
$50,000 grant allowed for the addition
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Salvation Army of La Crosse has some extra hands to help community members.
A new Community Health Worker is now on staff.
A $50,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Trust is helping the organization to add the position.
The new staff member will be partnering with La Crosse County Public Health, Viterbo University.
Gundersen Health System, Mayo Clinic Health System and St. Claire Health Mission are also partnering for assistance.
“We are a part of services that are offered in different places. So yes, I could see growth in this area, just not the person that we hired today, just not Megan, but maybe a group of people,” said Viterbo University assistant professor Jessie Latten.
The new member of the team will help provide physical, mental and spiritual needs of Salvation Army clients.
