Salvation Army kicks off Angel Tree campaign

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – It’s time to fulfill a child’s Christmas dream.

The Salvation Army kicked off its Angel Tree program.

For the next few weeks, you can find tags on Christmas trees at Walmart in La Crosse and Onalaska, as well as Advance Auto in La Crosse.

Each tag has information about a child, including clothing sizes and interests.

Last year, the program helped fill 771 kids’ wishes, and Salvation Army leaders say it takes a community to reach its goals.

“This is just such an overall big community effort to fulfill hundreds of tags and give all these kids their gifts for the season,” said Community Relations Specialist Willow Pecha.

If you’re pitching in, you have until November 30th to drop off presents at the Salvation Army in La Crosse.

Gifts will be handed out on December 14th.
